Text Box: SAMS HISTORICAL LOFTS Waco, Texas Rehabilitation Honor Award, 2003 Presented by Preservation Texas The complex was originally begun in 1919 as the Texas Textile Mill before being acquired in 1965 by the L.L. Sams Church Furniture Manufacturing Company. Norman Alston Architects helped the owner convert this complex into 126 loft apartments, occupied primarily by students of adjacent Baylor University.
