Mickey Gilley’s legendary nightclub was resurrected in Dallas in 2003 as a multi-purpose music and event venue just south of Downtown Dallas in the eclectic but burgeoning Cedars neighborhood.
The 50,000 square foot first phase of the existing 91,000 square foot building featured the 26,000 Main Event Center with 10,000 square foot wooden dance floor and the latest in audio, video and show lighting. This will be home not only to County Western performers, but also the Dallas Legends Jazz Festival and the Dallas Golden Gloves. Renowned artists from the artist residency program at nearby South Side on Lamar were engaged to create many of the facility’s features, including the steel drink rails and unique paint schemes inside and out.
When all phases are completed, Gilley’s will include multiple convention and meeting rooms, bars, game rooms, restaurants and a variety of specialty retail stores.
Norman Alston Architects served both as architects and construction managers, completing design and construction of the $ 3,000,000 facility in 10 months.
