Culminating a process that began with a presentation on August 2, the management contract that will designate Fair Park First as manager of Fair Park for the next 20+ years was approved by the Park Board this morning.  While the Park Board did not have all of their concerns assuaged, they were still able to recommend the contract by attaching a resolution that delineated their remaining concerns and made recommendations to the Council of proposed adjustments to the contract.  There were only 2 dissenting votes.

This was an important hurdle for the contract. Per City staff, Council is expected to receive a briefing on the contract on September 18 and to take action on the contract before the end of September.
